Electric Strikes

Electric strikes are a common component within electromechanical door systems.  They are characterized by speed, durability and longevity. Electric strikes allow you to unlock a door at the push of a button. Add electrified access control to an existing opening with affordable, versatile, durable electric strikes from HES for every type of lockset.

Electric strikes are installed on the door like a regular lock, but require a "raceway" (enclosed pathway for electrical wiring) through the door and a power transfer device such as an electric hinge or door loop. The latchbolt retracts momentarily as the door closes to accommodate the ramped surface, and then springs back to extend again into the latch pocket when the door is fully closed.
